Cats and dogs can be very chatty. They speak to us in many ways besides meowing and barking, purring, and tail wagging, but they can’t really verbalize and tell us when something hurts or when they don’t feel well. At All Creatures Animal Clinic, we use digital radiography to help us diagnose your pet’s condition when a physical examination alone is not enough. Digital radiography is an advanced diagnostic technology that enables us to take a peek inside your pet’s body to assess the status of injuries or disease that may be present.
An improvement on conventional x-rays, digital radiography provides digital radiographic images on a high-resolution monitor that are instantly ready for viewing. Painless, safe, and non-invasive, digital radiography can be used to examine the heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, abdomen, and skeletal structure. It is effective in helping to diagnose arthritis, tumors, bladder and kidney stones, lung abnormalities, gastrointestinal conditions, bone fractures, breaks, or other forms of damage as well as detecting foreign objects your pet may have ingested.
Digital radiography is painless, safe, and non-invasive. It provides clear images of the area of concern quickly and without having numerous retakes which means accurate and efficient patient assessments. It also uses very low doses of radiation making it safe enough for pregnant females and young pets.
Digital radiography differs from traditional x-rays in that images can be visually enhanced, and magnified, to help us speed and focus treatment plans for your pets. The images can also be shared with relevant team members, orthopedic specialists, and others as needed.
Whatever is troubling your pet, you can trust that All Creatures Animal Clinic will get to the bottom of the matter and get your furry friend feeling better again.
