Just as our name implies, All Creatures Animal Clinic provides general health care for all small animals, including furry, feathered, and scaly friends along with billy and nanny goats. Our experienced veterinarian has decades of experience working with small and large animals in an extensive variety of clinic settings. This experience has inspired him to develop a unique practice that caters to companion pets and exotic pets including ferrets, hedgehogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, rats, lizards, snakes, turtles, as well as birds.
Exotic companion animals are unique and delicate and are becoming more and more popular as pets. Their anatomy, physiology, and behavior are vastly different from dogs and cats, yet they require the same amount of expertise and care. We provide exams and wellness, preventative and diagnostic lab work, behavioral advice and assistance, nutritional counseling, soft tissue surgeries, and we spay and neuter rabbits.
Another characteristic that is typical of these remarkable animals is that they instinctively hide their symptoms of illness as long as possible. Just because they look healthy does not mean that they are. That is why it is very important for exotic pet parents to watch for any changes in behavior, appearance, sleeping patterns, activity, feeding patterns, skin, or feather changes. We recommend regular exams and check-ups twice a year which provides an opportunity to review basic care requirements and to detect potential health problems early before they become advanced.
For our feathered friends, we offer physical examinations, preventative and diagnostic blood tests, dietary and nutritional tips and assistance, grooming of nails, wings, and beak, tests to examine fecal matter for the presence of bacteria, yeast, and parasites, and cage recommendations and tips. Additionally, for our avian patients, we advise what to look for when watching for signs of illness.
