Having a terminally ill pet is never easy. When all treatment options have been exhausted, our goal at All Creatures Animal Clinic is to provide hospice care that focuses on keeping your pet pain-free, improving the quality of their life, and giving the family time with their beloved pet.
The goal at this stage is to make your pet’s final days more pleasant through the use of pain medication, dietary strategies, and human love and attention. We will work with you to help you provide the home care needed to keep your pet as comfortable as possible.
Even though death is a part of life, no one looks forward to saying goodbye to a cherished member of the family, even when that family member has four legs, a wagging or swishing tail, and possibly a cold, wet nose. Our sympathetic doctor helps animals experience terminal illness and the dying process with dignity. Although it is an extremely difficult time, we do everything we can to make the process of euthanasia as peaceful as can be and give you time to say goodbye.
Euthanasia provides a painless, humane, and gentle death that puts an end to their suffering. Our veterinarian’s method for euthanasia is equivalent to undergoing general anesthesia for a surgical procedure and takes only a matter of seconds. Your pet will experience no pain and will have no awareness of the end of life. Our staff will be there to help you throughout the procedure and will answer any questions with sympathy and compassion.
Afterwards, we can assist in the handling of your pet’s remains if you do not wish to take it with you, or we can also return your pet to you for burial. Should you prefer to have your pet cremated, we work with Family Pet Cremation for those services. You can inquire at our front desk about arrangements for cremation.
All Creatures Animal Clinic provides euthanasia services for pets who have been evaluated and who have been determined to be suffering, have a poor quality of life, and/or are in the end stages of life. A practicing veterinarian is the best person to advise you on when the time is right to euthanize. Before you go through one more day of agonizing over your decision, please contact us about an evaluation of your pet’s condition.
